Muslims Unite To Condemn Terrorism?
The group calling itself Muslims United are buying billboard and newspaper ad’s condemning terrorism, specifically the recent London and Glasgow car bombing plots.
They carry a quotation from the Koran saying: “Whoever kills an innocent soul, it is as if he killed the whole of mankind. And whoever saves one, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind.”
Members of the Muslims United group behind the campaign include the Conservative Muslim Forum, Islamic Relief, the Islamic Society of Britain and groups such as the Muslim Doctors and Dentists Association.
It’s pretty refreshing to finally see Muslims taking a stand against something besides cartoons or other silly western values they deem to be against the teaching of Mohammad. Perhaps this could be a turning point. I’m sure normal Muslims are starting to feel the heat from the actions of their more militant counterparts. Not only that, but their religion has an absolutely vile public image.
