2008 Dodge Challanger

A Hemi V8 was no challenge for our photographer, as he was still able to snag a great shot of the upcoming Dodge Challenger on a fast-moving highway. And even though the pre-production Challenger was wearing a bit of vinyl - one can easily tell that the production model is nearly identical to the concept shown on the auto show circuit.

Dodge’s all-new muscle car will be built on the new “LY” RWD platform in Ontario, Canada. Production will start in the spring of 2008 - and the Challenger will go on sale shortly afterwards as a 2008 model. Pricing is expected to start around $31,000, although it’s rumored that the R/T models have all been pre-sold in the 50K range. A convertible is also expected to arrive in the not-so-distant future.

The official debut of the (production) Challenger will be on February 6th at the Chicago Auto Show - just 222 days away.

Cocaine prices from around the world.

Cocaine PricesThe street price of cocaine varies hugely across the world. No surprise that it is cheapest in Colombia, the world’s biggest producer of coca: at $2, a gram costs less than a Big Mac. Geography is an obvious price factor. The farther away a country from the main producers in South and Central America, and the more isolated it is, the higher the cost to traffic there. In far-flung New Zealand, a gram costs a wallet-busting $714.30. But there are some pricing anomalies. Although the street price in Japan is several times higher than in Israel, Germany and Britain, the wholesale price in the countries is similar, around $46.40. In Canada the wholesale price is 50% more than in America, but Canadians pay 40% less on the street. It could be that policing is more zealous in some countries, or that there is less competition among suppliers.

$700+ for a gram of F’ing cocaine? Are you serious? If I could manage to get a key into the country of New Zealand, I’d be a millionaire! On the other hand, $2 for a gram in Columbia? Two bucks?! It may be time to get into the drug running business ladies and gentlemen!

Also, not sure where they come off with $100+ for a gram in the U.S. It kind of makes me doubt the validity of this entire study. Most people reading this know a gram of cocaine is no where near $110 in America. I’m going to have to call BS on this study. What do you think?
