Out of the 34 developed countries polled, the United States is second to last on the list that believes evolution is a fact. Maybe that’s one of our problems? I’m not one to bash religion, it does a great deal of good in the world IMO. However it also does a great deal of harm. Perhaps even more harm than good.
On the positive side it brings food to the hungry, gives guidance to young kids, and helps families to live a better life. However, sometimes I wonder if the Iraq war is actually centered around religion? There is some type of prophecy in the bible that states if Israel dies, Christianity will die. I could actually see Bush going to war for such a thing. After all, he does claim to have personal talks with God.
The investigation also showed that the percentage of U.S. adults who are uncertain about evolution has risen from 7 percent to 21 percent in the past 20 years.
