Cheney Off the Leash?

Is Dick Cheney out of the Bush inner circle?

Recently, whenever President Bush is announcing, defending, supporting whatever lost cause he currently sees on the cue card, the esteemed, beloved (by all comedians) Vice President is apparently absent.
I don’t think it’s because he needs to be in safe location in case of impeachment, I mean attack (wink). But, is it because Bush has finally decided that Cheney is a public relations liability?

After all, he is the Neo-Con of neocons, the Tutti de Capo of the New Right. He worked for the old Bush and he managed the new Bush through each pyrrhic victory. Obviously, Cheney as king of the attack sound bite still has value. A fine recent example is his fight with Senator Reid. Http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/04/24/congress.iraq.ap/index.html
He can still ’sling it’ with the best of them, accusing the Dems of being defeatists, demagogues and traitors. Hey it’s a tough job to be a hater. So, with this kind of skill set, he still has value to the Right Wing. But is he out of the inner circle?

How many articles have you seen in the last six months that tell you what a great guy Cheney is? Articles from his friends, the Rebublican elite (Stalwart, Undefeatist, Non-Traitorous Republicans). One? None?

Don’t think this benefits the Democrats. They need Cheney to fight against. No one can safely fight the “Fog of Bush. How do you hit an empty space? But who else have the democrats got left to fight? The really angry Republicans have either resigned (Rumsfeld), been run out (Delay) or just scandalized to the point when they are no fun to beat up anymore.

Come back Vice President. Stand beside your president and let us know you’re still in the game! Your enemies need you!

Interesting facts about Abraham Lincoln & John F. Kennedy

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird…

Lincoln’s secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy’s Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat…

Lincoln was shot at the theater named ‘Ford.’ Kennedy was shot in a car called ‘Lincoln’ made by ‘Ford.’

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here’s the kicker…

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Pretty cool huh? I didn’t verify all these facts, but I checked many of them and they all checked out.
