It’s hard out here for a chimp

Ratings are still in the low/mid thirties for president Bush, which may or may not have anything to do with the fact that Bush is back in bible thumper mode with his revived campaign against gays and lesbians–although, this probably has more to do with mid-term elections than anything else. Either way, he’s beating the tired drum of anti-gay legislation, which will guarantee the republicans at least one family’s votes.

“I call on the Congress to pass this amendment, send it to the states for ratification, so we can take this issue out of the hands of overreaching judges and put it back where it belongs: in the hands of the American people,” Bush said at the White House on Monday.

In related news, the North Star Gay Rodeo Association will be holding their 10th annual regional rodeo this coming July. It’s unclear at this point if Bush will be attending.
